Beard Trims and Sculpting in Chelmsford
A beard trim is a small job that goes wrong easily. The neckline set too high, the cheek line cut straight across, or too much taken off the length because nobody asked first.
We ask what you want before we start, set the lines to suit your face, and take length off gradually rather than all at once.

What you get
The shape set first: cheek line, neckline and the corners of the jaw. These three lines do most of the work in making a beard look deliberate.
Then the length, taken down evenly and checked against the shape of your face as we go. If you want to keep the length and just tidy it, say so and we will.
We are gentle with the razors around the edges, so you leave without the irritation and rash that a heavy hand causes.
Who it suits
Anyone from a few weeks of growth upwards. If you are growing one out for the first time and it is at the awkward stage, we can tidy the edges without taking the length back, which is usually what gets people through it.
If you have had a beard butchered elsewhere, we can usually sort the shape out over a couple of visits rather than taking it all back at once.
Keeping the shape
The neckline is the thing to watch. The instinct is to tidy upwards, which raises the line a little each time until the beard looks like it is sitting too high on the jaw. Keep to the line we set.
Two to four weeks between trims keeps a beard looking sharp, depending on how fast yours grows and how tight you like the shape.
Questions
Beard Sculpting, answered
- How much is a beard trim in Chelmsford?
- Beard shaping is £15 with Tom, £18 with Tiago and £20 with Jackson. Having it done alongside a haircut works out cheaper than booking the two separately.
- Will you take the length off my beard?
- Only as much as you ask for. We take length off gradually and check as we go, so nothing comes off that you did not want gone.
- Can you fix a beard someone else has cut badly?
- Usually, yes. Depending on how far off the lines are, it can take a couple of visits to bring the shape back without cutting everything down to start again.
